Kirsch of Alsace Eau de Vie Hagmeyer

The "eau-de-cerise" would be the oldest fruit brandy: mainly from cherries with exceptional fruitiness, it gives a fine and elegant brandy that can be tasted for itself.

But Kirsch, present in all good kitchens and pastry shops, combines wonderfully with many products (sauce, fondue, chocolates, cakes, etc. ...) to give them a gastronomic dimension.

Suggested consumption

Kirsch d'Alsace is a must in pastry making. A drop in a sweet yogurt gives you a simple and aromatic dessert. In cocktails, it is the ideal brandy to try an Alsatian version of the Bloody Mary.

The Hagmeyer artisanal distillery

The Hagmeyer family and their team present their artisanal distillery in Balbronn, a small Alsatian village in the hills of the sub-Vosges, 20 km west of Strasbourg; Willy distills mainly the fruits of his own harvest. Christophe takes care of the maintenance of the orchards and vineyards until the harvest, with the help of André. MichÚle and Elsa welcome you on the phone or at the store in Balbronn. Arboriculturist and distiller, the Hagmeyer family is heir to a know-how several hundred years old.

The Hagmeyer Distillery currently employs 3 extra-familial employees and seasonal workers during periods of intense activity. The terroir around Balbronn, i.e. the combination of the soil, the climate, the knowledge of the men and the technique, allows the elaboration of particularly aromatic eaux-de-vie.
