WAH ! Hagmeyer Alsace Whisky

This organic Alsatian whisky is made from a brew of organic barley from our fields, brewed (after malting) by the Brasserie Perle in Strasbourg, distilled twice in our stills in Balbronn, and aged in Alsatian winegrowers' oak barrels in the family attic. It was named WAH! in a nod to a magical tasting moment during its development. Distilled in early 2016, the dominant notes evoke yellow and candied fruits, a hint of floral; supported by solid cereal aromas and subtle woodiness. Our Whisky respects the Whisky d'Alsace specifications and is certified organic. We wish you to live delicious moments of discovery that will make you say wow!

The Hagmeyer artisanal distillery

The Hagmeyer family and their team present their artisanal distillery in Balbronn, a small Alsatian village in the hills of the sub-Vosges, 20 km west of Strasbourg; Willy distills mainly the fruits of his own harvest. Christophe takes care of the maintenance of the orchards and vineyards until the harvest, with the help of André. MichÚle and Elsa welcome you on the phone or at the store in Balbronn. Arboriculturist and distiller, the Hagmeyer family is heir to a know-how several hundred years old.

The Hagmeyer Distillery currently employs 3 extra-familial employees and seasonal workers during periods of intense activity. The terroir around Balbronn, i.e. the combination of the soil, the climate, the knowledge of the men and the technique, allows the elaboration of particularly aromatic eaux-de-vie.
